I have been working on a contemporary YA novel since 2011, when I was a junior in high school. Its working title is Life After This, and I’m currently on my third draft.

Life After This features Len, a severely depressed and introverted senior in high school and her best friend Emerald, beautiful and fearless and dangerously impulsive, plus Emerald’s new boyfriend Shay, the hot, cool jock who joins their group and ends up getting a little closer to Len than she’s comfortable with. Then there’s Len’s dad, Rick, an alcoholic who may be a danger to more than just himself. Life After This is a journey of learning what it means to be a good friend and stepping–or jumping–outside your comfort zone.

If there are any other contemporary YA writers out there who are interested in swapping chapters for honest feedback, or anyone who just likes YA books and wants to provide feedback, let me know in the comments. And if there are any agents/editors out there who have a really good feeling about the synopsis I’ve just provided, feel free to hit me up as well. YOLO.

I would love to read some of your chapters! Most of the times I read fantasy but I want to read more YA. When I write it’s kind of YA.
